This wire wound switch start choke is designed to operate a single 4ft F36w T8 Fluorescent tube or 2 x 2ft F18w T8 fluorescent tubes in switch start type fittings and luminaires. This type of control gear has now been phased out in favour of HF (high frequency) variants with instant start.
However, if you are looking for a replacement part for an older style fitting operating one of the above setups, this is the perfect solution. Please note this type of control gear requires an external starter switch to operate. If your fitting doesn't light up instantly and you can hear a delayed ignition before lighting up then you more than likely have a switch start fitting.
